In today’s fast paced and quickly changing business environment, your managers are vital links to success.  These men and women are on the front lines of organizational change, are often responsible for rolling out new products and services; and on a daily basis, it is these individuals who must motivate, engage and retain key employees while developing productive teams.  Never before has a manager’s role been so crucial for customer and employee retention, and bottom line results.  Many of your managers may be new to their positions, or in fact may be transitioning into different roles.  No matter how you cut it, they drive success and can just as easily create obstacles, increase stress, and disengage people.

   
 

Unfortunately it is all too common for these higher potential managers to be left out from the pool of people receiving active, customized, one-on-one coaching.   These days it seems as if every coach only wants your top executives as clients.  At HPL we are focusing in a different area.

   
 

The HPL Coaching Group recognizes that management training classes are not sufficient to guarantee the success of your managers.  We recognize the critical mission that these people have, and the many demands placed on them by top leaders in the organization. Your top executives may indeed benefit from coaching, but it is an investment in this group that may lead to the highest ROI for your organization.

What is included in The HPL Manager’s Coaching Program?

 
     
 
  • A chosen candidate is given a 6-month program
  • Input data is collected from the manager’s supervisor, and the candidate, so we can target critical personal and work objectives, and areas for professional improvement. Sometimes there are areas in need of remediation.
  • An individual coach meets with your manager to assure that there is a good match, as well as a desire to participate. Not everyone is ready to change! Not all of your recommended candidates may be comfortable with a coach.
  • Goals and specific, ‘do-able’ objectives are established for the 6 month process
  • Relevant assessment instruments are utilized to help your manager obtain a realistic picture of him or herself.  And if there is a problematic target area, we will apply instruments that can assess competencies in that specific area. All of our testing will be supervised by licensed psychologists.
  • Weekly coaching and consultation sessions are set-up with the manager, sometimes via the phone on evenings and weekends. We want to make it easy and convenient for your people.
  • Periodic feedback is gathered from others who work with the manager.
  • Reading materials and resources are given to the candidate by the coach.
  • At 6 months, we debrief all parties involved with the ongoing success of your manager and present this feedback to the candidate.
  • At 9 months the candidate is contacted as a “check-up” and reinforcement of progress.
